HERALDS

The screenprints in this series use the symbols and forms adopted in the painting series, No Relief. In making these prints, I also used a painting process, where it is conscioulsy not an edition, there are no identical prints in the serious.
The prints follows the general process of the paintings, where I am using processes and tools that produce results closer in type to painting. There’s an inversion at work through process in both.
The screens were assembled directly on the exposure table, and those screens were combined in different ways on the paper. I worked with the tools of screenprinting through my painting processes. Intentionally overinking, for example, produced textures that make the prints appearing as paintings. There are examples of these details below.
