We can be in the same place twice, but never have the same experience. This notion of phenomenology initially appears to announce an excitement of some kind, through the anticipation of new - unique - experience. While this is possible we must admit that similarity or repetition can easily occlude from us the possibility of a new experience. All of the clips in this video are unique, but they are very similar and they are edited together in a repetitive sequencing that reveals a pattern or logic that itself speaks to that meta narrative. In this way, the editing process or sequencing can become the focus of the work as the clips resemblances begin to repeat. The clips all use a focal presence that demands the viewers' immediate focus. The framing benefits from this focal mass, and proposes a more lyrical relationship between the clips rather than an expectation of narrative conclusions. This video was shown looped, and because of its structure and the fact that it is relatively short, the video does not have a discernible, narrative end point.
