N_O (2009)
N_O was made as the partner to a video installation I made in New Orleans called Deadpan. I took the idea of a flip book and conflated it with the decision to use non-animating, simplified images. Instead, I made complex images that respond to each other, and I allow the use of the book determine the way the images are received by the viewer. What you see here are a selection of the images used in the book as printed. I am using history painting in collusion with my own photography to create commentaries on painting, photography and composition.
