Posts-Screens-Print 2016
The prints shown here are indebted to the framing devices that political reportage employs. These prints are montages that include imagery drawn from conventional news broadcasts, you tube 'amateur' videos of conflict, and Middle Eastern news reporting. They aim to provide a meditation on the effect of these framing devices, especially the authority that is assumed through the adoption of such modality. Contrasting the comparatively raw you tube videos provides a much needed counter point that enables me to include a pointed reference to the continual plodding of capital, as advertisements emblazoned on you tube pages. This aims at introducing the root of imperial incursion, the intentional creation of disaster zones that can converted to become profit centers for the state and private actors that controls the offensive. These prints have been digitally printed on archival rag paper, and will soon be screen printed at a larger scale.
